KOALA Hall of Fame The KOALA Hall of Fame was introduced in 2001 to recognise books that had never won KOALA but had demonstrated enduring popularity with the young readers in New South Wales by being shortlisted 5 or more times. Prior to 2001 all Australian children’s books were eligible for KOALA irrespective of when they were published. This meant that some books appeared on the shortlist year after year.
